How do i qualify?
To qualify for a DC Medical Marijuana Card you must have the following: • Proof of DC Residency • Recommendation from a qualified physician • Completed medical marijuana application.
Human immune deficiency virus (HIV) • Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) • Glaucoma • Conditions characterized by severe and persistent muscle spasms, such as multiple sclerosis (MS) • Cancer • Any other condition, as determined by rulemaking, that is chronic or long-lasting, debilitating or interferes with the basic functions of life: and/ or serious medical condition for which the use of medical marijuana is beneficial. There is scientific evidence that the use of medical marijuana is likely to be significantly less addictive than the ordinary medical treatment for multiple medical conditions.
Medical marijuana use
Residents that currently obtain a medical marijuana card are legally permitted to purchase and consume medical marijuana in the District of Columbia. Cardholders are allowed to purchase up to 2 ounces of medical marijuana per month.
Medical marijuana may only be consumed in the home of eligible patient or a medical facility while receiving treatment for condition if permitted. Medical Marijuana may not be consumed on the dispensary grounds unless it is a licensed medical treatment facility.
Clients and caregivers
Clients and caregivers must transport medical marijuana in sealed container issued by the dispensary.
There are numerous ways to consume medical marijuana. Most consumption is used by the following: • Smoking • Vaporizing • Edibles • Beverages.
